The 60 cm usable width rules
Each DTF metre measures 60 cm usable width by 100 cm long. That surface is what you have to place your designs, always leaving a few millimetres of spacing between pieces for a clean cut.
Make the most of the full 60 cm: it is the same usable width whether you lay the file out yourself or use the online configurator.
Examples of how many logos per metre
These numbers are indicative and depend on the spacing you leave between pieces, but they help you get a quick idea when quoting.
The more logos that fit, the lower the cost per unit, because the metre has a fixed price of 7 € + VAT spread across all the pieces.
- Chest logos 10 x 10 cm: around 24 per metre.
- Small logos 5 x 5 cm: around 80 per metre.
- Large backs 30 x 40 cm: 2 to 3 per metre.
- Mix of sizes: group by height so you do not leave gaps.
How to lay out the sheet so nothing is wasted
Place the large pieces first and fill the gaps with the small ones. Align by rows of similar height to minimise empty space and rotate elongated designs if they fit better horizontally.
Remember to separate each design by a few millimetres for cutting and to leave a small margin at the edges of the metre. With the file laid out well, the cost per logo drops noticeably.
